Traffic Check Nets Five Kilos Of Cocaine

A half-million dollars of cocaine is off the streets after a police checkpoint in Greenville.

Two Burlington men, Otoniel Echererria and Hector Lopez, have been charged with trafficking cocaine.

Greenville police say around 7:30 p.m. last night they were conducting a traffic checkpoint on Brownlea Drive near East 4th Street when a police canine alerted to narcotics in one vehicle. Inside the 2006 Lincoln they found five kilos of cocaine.

Both men are in jail on $3,000,000 bonds.
