Officials across the east looking for the suspects that broke into storage facilities across three counties have released surveillance video.
In the video from a rental storage facility in Lenior County you can see three people in a full-sized Chevy 4-door pick up truck going from
unit to unit taking items.
The Carteret County Sheriff's Office says they aren't releasing what the stolen items are but they beleive the rash of thefts are related based on the nature of what was taken.
In the meantime, the sheriff's office says people with storage units should check their unit and make sure the rental facility has their current contact information. They also recommend investing in a disk lock.
Deputies are working wih Lenoir, Jones and Pitt Counties, along with police in Newport, Kinston, Maysville and Ayden.
Lawmen in four Eastern Carolina counties are working together, trying to solve a rash of storage unit break-ins.
Lenoir County deputies say on Wednesday a rental storage facility on Kennedy Home Road was hit, with the locks of multiple units cut off. Review of surveillance footage showed the thefts actually occurred on Monday.
That video shows three people in a full-sized Chevy 4-door pickup truck. The vehicle is blue with chrome bumpers, and it's pulling a black metal trailer.

Deputies say they've also learned that similar thefts at storage facilities have also taken place in Carteret, Jones and Pitt counties as well. Lenoir County deputies say they're now working with deputies from Carteret and Jones counties, along with police in Newport, Kinston, Maysville and Ayden on the case.
