Suspect Charged With Selling Drugs Close To A School

A drug investigation by Greenville Police ends with two arrests where one of the suspects is charged with selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school.

Police charged 23-year-old Quamane Matthews after they say a search of 3003-K Kingston Circle turned up 46 grams of marijuana, 19.5 grams of mushrooms and 1.5 grams of ecstasy.

In addition to the charge of possession with intent to sell and deliver within 1,000 feet of a school, Matthews faces five additional drug-related charges.

A check of the map shows the closest school to 3003-K Kingston Circle is Eastern Elementary School.

Police also arrested 22-year-old Kaitlyn Briggs and charged her with maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance.

Bond for Briggs was set at $1,500. Bond for Matthews is $100,000.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
