One Pitt County resident is thankful to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office for returning a valued possession to her after 2 years.
According to the PCSO, a dragon statue was reported stolen from a home on Highway 43 South back in 2012.
Apparently, while a Civil Deputy was serving papers on east 14th Street Friday he noticed the dragon behind the apartment building. He remembered the case from a couple of years ago then called the office to verify.
The resident of the apartment told officials the dragon was given to her from neighbors who said they were moving and couldn't take the dragon with them.
Now, the dragon is back with Mary Branch. She brought several dozens of doughnuts and a gallon of KK coffee, and had it delivered to the patrol station this morning to show her appreciation.
