For the second time in a month, the Sampson County Sheriff's Office is warning motorists of a blue light bandit who attempted to stop a woman's vehicle.
The sheriff's office said the woman was traveling in the southern portion of the county Sunday night when a vehicle with blue and red flashing lights in its grille tried to stop her car. A statement said the woman was suspicious, so she turned on her emergency flashers and called 911.
A 911 dispatcher confirmed that a deputy sheriff was not following her.
In October, 21-year-old Matthew Flores Arelleno of Newton Grove was charged with two counts of illegally operating a blue light after authorities said he tried to stop two women on a road near town.
