UPDATE: Robersonville Armed Robbery

Robersonville police say a masked man who was working alone robbed the Trade Mart on Academy St. Sunday night.

Officer Cahoon says the armed robbery occurred around 9:30 p.m. He says the masked man used a semi-automatic gun to demand money from the clerk.

Officer Cahoon says he does not know yet if there will be surveillance video or pictures released to the public, but there was one characteristic to the man that could help the public identify him. Cahoon says the man is about 5'2" tall.

An armed robbery at a local gas station is under investigation today.

Martin County Sheriff's deputies say the Trade Mart on Academy St. in Robersonville Sunday night. The hold up was reported before 10 p.m. No details were available early Monday on the number of robbers, or if they were wearing masks.

The suspects in recent armed robberies in Pitt County have worked in small groups while wearing masks.

This was the second armed robbery reported in Martin County over the weekend. The Bojangles on East Blvd. in Williamston was held up Friday night.

Greenville police said there were no armed robberies in that city over the weekend.
