NEW INFO: Robersonville Man Arrested For Robbery Day After Birthday

Police said they caught an armed robbery suspect the day after his birthday.

Greenville police reports show an armed robbery was called in at Myrtle Street and Pamlico Avenue around 6:30 Sunday morning.

According to investigators, the victim said a man robbed her of her purse at gunpoint then drove off quickly.

Around 7 p.m. Tuesday, officers said they arrested the suspected armed robber: 47-year-old Jeffrey Bland of Robbersonville.

Detention center records online indicate Bland was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, assault on a female, fleeing to elude arrest in a motor vehicle, plus possession of a firearm by a felon.

Bland was given a $300,000 bond ahead of his first court appearance.

The victim did not report any injuries from the robbery.
