Armed Man Arrested After Road Rage Incident In Salisbury

A man with eight guns in his vehicle has been arrested after a road-rage incident involving an off-duty North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper.

The Salisbury Post reported (http://bit.ly/T4nfVJ) that 44-year-old Richard Stevenson Miller Jr. is charged with assault by pointing a gun, weapons violations and aggressive driving.

Trooper Jason Page told police he had just gotten onto Interstate 85 in Salisbury when he encountered a sports utility vehicle driving erratically on Friday afternoon.

Page says at one point, the driver pointed a gun at the officer and his girlfriend.

Page called 911 and Miller was stopped by other troopers and Rowan County sheriff's deputies. He had four handguns, three rifles and a shotgun in the vehicle.

It was not clear if Miller has an attorney.
