Law enforcement have released new details on the suspect wanted for early Friday morning's break-in of the Main Moon Chinese Restaurant in Richlands.

Police say that Randall Cobb is wanted by law enforcement from Onslow, New Hanover, and Wake County for separate charges that include identity credit fraud, and felony breaking and entering.

Early Friday morning, Officer Roger Davis noticed an SUV backed up to the Main Moon. When he went to investigate, he says Cobb jumped out the front door where the glass had been broken out and said, “Hey, you got me.” The officer says that Cobb managed to get back in his vehicle, and attempted to run him over.

Davis chased the SUV down highway 258, when they say Cobb wrecked near Tideland Energy, and took off into the woods. A K-9 with the Sheriff’s Office was called out to help out.

Lawmen called off the search around 3:30 this morning.

Police say that it’s not clear how much money Cobb got away with, because he stole the tip jar from the restaurant.

Cobb faces charges for the break-in as well as assault on a government official with a deadly weapon.

A search is underway for the man police say broke into a restaurant overnight and then tried to run a police officer over with his car.

Richlands police say Randall Cobb from Raleigh broke into the Main Moon Chinese Restaurant on Richlands Highway overnight. Around 1:00 a.m. Officer Roger Davis caught Cobb and recovered what he stole. However, Cobb took off in his rental car, police say, but not before trying to run the officer over with his vehicle.

Cobb crashed near Tidewater Energy and ran off into the woods. Police searched until 3:30 a.m. Friday before suspending the search for a few hours. The search for Cobb is again underway.

Officer Davis was not injured and authorities say he was in the right place at the right time to witness the break-in.

You can't deal rationally with an irrational person! This is when anyone including an LEO needs to do whatever the situation calls for at the moment. I have never been pro tazer, but I would have to admit that this would have been a most appropriate time for one to be used! Some of this "stupid" stuff would stop if the law was allowed to handle it then and there. No one needs to get hurt or killed over someone's stupidity and sorriness! You bet I want to keep my second amendment rights. We better keep them, or those of us who try to live within the law will be the first folks these scrubs will want to hurt!

You be careful with that ginger. I seen some people do strange thing when they've had too much ginger. They get all slanty-eyed and start mumbling some gibberish I can't understand.
