Report: Bertie County Man Breaks Into Pharmacy, Flips Into Ditch

A Bertie County man who successfully broke into a pharmacy and stole $20,000 worth of prescription drugs had some trouble with his getaway, according to the Roanoke Chowan News Herald.

The paper says, 39-year-old Ernest Lee of Aulander broke into Futrell's Pharmacy in Northampton County early Thursday morning. He managed to take $20,000 worth of prescription drugs but had some difficulty after leaving the scene.

Just after fleeing the parking lot in his pickup truck, another driver cut him off and the truck flipped onto its side in a ditch.

We have checked with the jail, and Lee has posted his bond to be released.
