Pot Found In Restaurant Parking Lot

A joint investigation between lawmen in Beaufort and Pitt counties brought about the seizure of more than three pounds of pot in a popular restaurant parking lot.

Wanamonca Gaynor of Raleigh and Larry Blount of Grimesland were arrested September 21, though it was just announced today. Deputies say the two were arrested in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Bojangles at North Campus Crossing in Greenville. Inside Gaynor's vehicle deputies say they found more than three pounds of pot stored.

Gaynor has been charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana and felony maintaining a vehicle/place/dwelling to facilitate drug activity. Blount was charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana.

Marijuana is a plant that grows wild and needs NO processing to make it a drug. Plants come from nature, when nature is made illegal there is something really wrong with our society. Prohibition has NOT ever worked, it is only a way for a certain organization to make money, stop it and you stop their flow of money. Now, tell me again how you think all cops are really wanting to get this off the streets completely. What will they do with all their free time? How many of them will lose their job? Ahhh I see the lights coming on now in you lil heads.

This is for Mr.Blount, It is about time you grow up and and make something of yourself. It is not too late. You should feel horrible for all you have put your family through and be a better example for all of the children in your life...

Think about what you are saying. We spend a lot of money trying to prevent rape, murder, child abuse, robbery, etc. It is not working. If you use your reasoning, we should just throw in the towel and say, we tried but it is not working! I think you must have smoked a little too much yourself. The old brain cells are not connecting properly!

Murder, rape, etc. have ALWAYS been illegal!! I would go as far to say that the aforementioned are illegal everywhere. However, altering one's mood by various ways has NOT always been illegal. The only reason pot is illegal is because of it's cultural associations, and that's it!! It is not addictive, does not cause death, unlike cigarettes and alcohol. If substances were made illegal because of the harm produced, don't you think alcohol and cigarettes would be illegal. Have you taken the time to research the history of how pot was made illegal? I doubt it, just spew the propaganda/misinformation of folks that have a vested interest in keeping it illegal. Your argument is weak and lacks any factual reason for the continued prohibition of pot. Interstingly, there is a documentary by Ken Burns on the prohibition of alcohol and it follows the steps/methods almost lock step as those for making pot illegal. Hopefully, when the economy falls into depression, pot will be made legal just like alcohol did. Prohibition does not work for things that aren't ethically/morally wrong e.g. gambling, drug use, etc. Other crimes are just plain wrong e.g. murder, rapre, etc.

Beaufort County Sheriff's Dept. is worthless. They need to be doing something about all that crack in Edwards instead of dealing with another county's problem. And yes they do need to legalize marajuana.

I personally think alcohol should be illegal...and people who drink are worthless. But I usually keep it to myself because my opinion isn't popular. (esp. in ENC)
