Armed Robber Holds Up New Bern Restaurant

Police are searching for the gunman who held up a New Bern restaurant Sunday.

It happened Sunday just before 1:00 a.m. at the Spunky McDoogle's restaurant on South Glenburnie Road.

The suspect took off with an undisclosed amount on money. No one was hurt.

The description is a slender black man approximately 5'10' tall wearing a white mask or bandana and a hooded sweatshirt and a handgun.

      You're probably a Greenville resident, tired to everyone picking on your town because of the higher crime rate. I'm sorry you have to live there.....Maybe you can move where I live...we rarely have crime.

    Why anyone would rob this place is beyond me. It's like robbing the nicest guy in town.

      Because BAD GUYS rob nice guys; that's why the criminals are bad. If Greenville had gotten a hold on crime, and some of those Katrina refugees hadn't taken a 'foot hold', this wouldn't be. Think about it; Hurricane Katrina pushed relocation people this way (for some reason) in 2005 forward. Ever since, crime has escalated in ENC; it's a fact Jack.
