Kinston police are investigating a fatal shooting at a fast food restaurant this morning that appears to be self-inflicted.
Officer Woody Spencer says it appears the person shot themself while in the parking lot of the Bojangles on North Herritage Street around 8:50 a.m. Police closed off the area while they investigated the shooting, but have since left the business.
Greene County Sheriff Lemmie Smith went to the scene to see if the shooting was related to an armed robbery earlier at the Bojangles in Snow Hill. Both Smith and Spencer say the shooting in Kinston and the robbery are not connected.
