UPDATE: Police Respond To Shots Fired At Rocky Mount Mall

Authorities say a teen has been injured after at least five shots were fired at a mall in Rocky Mount.

Police told the Rocky Mount Telegram that two groups of teens were arguing around 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Golden East Crossing Mall when one of the teens pulled out a gun and began firing.

Investigators say a 13-year-old boy showed up at a hospital later with a grazed bullet wound to the leg. A shop window was also shattered.

Shoppers say most of the stores lowered their security gates as soon as the shots rang out and the mall was closed for the night as police investigated.

No arrests have been made, but investigators say they are reviewing security camera footage.
