It may be the season for giving, but in Pitt County some robbers seem to think it is the season for taking.

Several churches in Greenville were robbed sometime between late Sunday night and early Monday morning this past weekend.

At Peace Presbyterian church several flat screen TV's were ripped off the walls and stolen. The robbers broke into almost every office and room of the church leaving thousands of dollars worth of damage behind. Pastor Paul Lang said he was disappointed that someone would steal from the church.

Temple Free Will Baptist church and Saint James United Methodist church were also broken into.

Police say they have persons of interest in the cases and there is a possibility the break-ins are connected.
