Arrest Made In New Bern Club Shooting

Police say they have arrested a Pamlico County man for a shooting this past weekend outside a New Bern nightclub.

Mareus Peterson of Reelsboro was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious injury for the shooting at the After Party Club.

Police say Baron Brown was shot outside the Queen Street club on Sunday morning. He has since been released from the hospital.

The 22-year-old Peterson is jailed on a million dollar secured bond and has a first appearance on Friday.

Police in New Bern said on Monday they had taken out warrants for Mareus Peterson of Lee Landing Road in Reelsboro, N.C. This after a shooting outside a New Bern after-party club in the downtown area.

Police said Baron Brown was injured after shots were fired outside the club near the 1000 block of Queen Street in downtown New Bern.

Peterson's warrants list assault with a dangerous weapon, inflicting serious injury.
