Greenville police say they have identified the driver of a car caught on surveillance video in a hit and run.
Police say 21-year-old Chavez Spencer of Engelhard will be charged with one count of hit and run with property damage and a safe movement violation.
Surveillance video of the hit and run at the Drew Steele Recreation Center was released on Tuesday as police hoped someone would recognize the man.
The hit and run happened around 2:20 p.m. Monday, with the car taking out a fence and then striking another car in the parking lot before leaving before police could arrive.

It happened around 2:20 p.m. at the Drew Steele Recreation Center on Elm Street. The crash was captured on a surveillance camera as well as a witness who photographed the car before it took off.
The driver is described as a black man in light clothing. In the surveillance video the driver is seen coming into the rec center before leaving before police arrived.
