A Pitt County man is behind bars, after a shooting Wednesday night.
Deputies say Christopher Duncan of Stokes Road is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
The shooting happened around 6:35 p.m. at a home across the road from Duncan's home.
The victim, Dmarcus Hooks, said he and Duncan were arguing outside the home and that Duncan came at him with a gun, after pulling a pistol from his waistband. The victim said one shot was fired in the air, and two more shots fired at him as he ran away.
Duncan was arrested later that night when he returned to his home.
The man was jailed on a $500,000 bond.
