Pinetown Man Accused Of Pit Bull Cruelty

A Pinetown man is accused of performing medical procedures on pit bulls without veterinary assistance.

John Asby, Jr. of Boyd Loop Road is charged with six counts of felony cruelty to animals.

Beaufort County deputies say on November 29th they received a complaint of animal cruelty from animal control officers. After a search warrant, deputies say they found multiple pit bulls on the property.

The 20-year-old Asby was arrested Thursday and released after posting a $5,000 secured bond.
