Perquimans County Man Found Dead Along The Road

A Perquimans County man last seen Saturday night was found dead along a road by a bicyclist Tuesday afternoon.

The Perquimans County Sheriff's Office says the individual, identified as 27-year-old Chad Colson, had multiple lacerations to his upper torso.

Colson's body was found alongside Holiday Island Road near Pender Road around lunchtime.

The body did not have identification on it when it was found. The sheriff's office says they were able to make a positive I.D. from a past arrest record that they had.

The death is being treated as a homicide at this time.

The sheriff's office is waiting for an autopsy report to confirm Colson's cause of death.

Thanks Eastern NC LEO. Interesting WITN conducts a poll about the first county in NC yet barely covers news in the area. Glad the murderer was caught. Good job Eric.

its pretty sad that in eastern NC Witn doesnt hardly cover anything past Washington and Tyrell County .....You know Perquimans , Chowan , Pasqoutank Camden , Currituck and Dare ....I might be missing one should count and get equal coverage too ...http://www.wavy.com/dpp/news/north_carolina/arrest-made-in-perquimans-county-homicide

I agree Leo, I wrote a post up here yesterday reguard a woman who was married to a cop jump off the bridge in hertford and commiting suicide and they did not report on it nor post what I wrote. They could care less what happens in the counties above the albemarle sound! They act as if we are not part of eastern NC!

yup we have all sorts of stuff that goes on ....drugs busts, stabbings robberies just like every where else , as a matter of fact four places got robbed while all of the other robberies were going on but Elizabeth City never got mentioned. Wavy covers us sometimes but it would be nice if WITN would cover ALL of eastern NC

So true Hannah and Leo, I heard about the woman jumping from the bridge and was surprised no one really reported on it. Even when her body was found. Sometimes WTKR & wavy report on us but not very often. Oh and Leo, the county you were missing was Gates county.

I don't know this family, but my prayers go out to them. I will say that when I heard this am on witn news and heard witn speak of his past criminal record, I thought REALLY? Did you really feel it that important to say? The man is dead and his family is grieving. Shame on you!

Sad this young man had to go down the wrong road in life, like so many before him only to end up beside the road. peace to the family, may God comfort you in your time of grief.

You don't know Chad I do and yes he made mistakes but he did not deserve to die... and shame on you for putting your 2 cents into something you know nothing about...The news should not have put his criminal record on blast...

Umm pretty sure he past criminal record is not a fact relating to his death... If someone murdered this man (Which is how it is looking) nobody has a right to kill anyone for any reason no matter what their past is. I am pretty sure that you are a perfect human being who has never done anything wrong in your past, maybe we should just call you God!

Well, this young man could own money to the wrong people, said something to someone about whatever, you don't need to be perfect with everyone but you do need to be with others.

Really? This is what you say to something like this! The shame is on you for that! No matter what his choices in life were, he was still a good person, and did not deserve death! Maybe before speaking your opinion you should think!!!
