Police say they caught a man running from a home with a trash bag full of pot and cash.

Jeffrey Pettigrew is charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

New Bern police say they were called to a home on Shadow Brook Lane Friday morning for a trespassing call. When officers arrived they saw a man running from the home carrying a trash bag. It turns out the 24-year-old Pettigrew lives at the home and ran after a domestic dispute.

Inside the trash bag officers found approximately five pounds of marijuana and more than $2,900 in cash.

Pettigrew has a first appearance on Monday.
