POLICE: Man In Slippers Walks Out With Case Of Cigarettes

Police say a brazen thief wearing bedroom slippers made off with a case of cigarettes by simply walking out of the store with them. The cigarettes are valued at $1,550.

Greenville police say it happened last Thursday around 11:30 a.m. at the Kangaroo Express at the corner of Arlington Boulevard and Memorial Drive as the clerk was busy with customers. The man was last seen running across Memorial Drive toward Pine Street with the case of Newports.

Police today released store surveillance photos of the man. He is a black man with a bald or shaved head and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a yellow t-shirt, black shorts and slippers.
