Police say their suspicions were correct after they found hundreds of bags of heroin inside a rental car Tuesday afternoon.
24-year-old Kevin Beamon of Fayetteville was arrested in Greenville around 1:30 p.m.
Investigators said Greenville Police IMPACT were checking out the suspicious car, parked near Myrtle Avenue and W. 14th Street.
Police said that is where they found Beamon with 450 bags of heroin. Officers say the Fayetteville man is a known repeat offender with prior arrests for felony assault and drug trafficking.
Beamon is in jail under a $300,000 bond, facing charges of trafficking heroin, possession with intent to sell or deliver the drug, drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a vehicle for the sale of drugs.
Police said more arrests related to this case are possible.
