FIRST ON WITN: Man Tries Knifepoint Robbery At Greenville Student Complex

Officers are now investigating the third case this week of someone held up at knifepoint in the city of Greenville.

Police said they were called to University Manor Apartments, a complex known primarily as student housing, around 2:30 Friday morning.

Investigators said a young man was walking to his car to get something when a man came up behind him with a knife.

Police said the would-be robber did not get anything from his victim, but dropped the knife and took off running.

Police are looking for a light-skinned black man who stands about 5'9 tall, and wears his hair in an afro. At the time, officer said the man was wearing a black or navy blue pullover, jeans, and Timberland boots.
