Police say they found a concealed knife and a handgun after a man riding a bicycle made an abrupt u-turn when officers showed up.
Tahkaem Staton of Oak City is charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of resist, delay and obstruct a police officer.
Greenville police say Sunday night around 9:45 p.m. they got a call about suspicious people near the KFC Restaurant on SW Greenville Boulevard. Once the man on the bike saw the officers, they say he made a u-turn. Officers caught up with him on Bismark Street and found an 8-inch knife in the man's right pants pocket, while they believe Staton threw down a .40 caliber handgun that was found nearby.
The 20-year-old Staton, who has previous arrests for assault with a deadly weapon, robbery with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping, was jailed on a $5,000 secured bond.
