POLICE: Man Exposed Himself To Kids Heading To School This Morning

Police say a man exposed himself to students walking and bicycling to two schools this morning in one Jacksonville neighborhood.

Authorities are investigating several cases of indecent exposure around 7:30 a.m. in the Northwoods area. The students were headed to Northwoods Park Middle School and Parkwood Elementary School.

Police say the man was in a late model red "sports style" 4-door car. He is described as a young man in his mid-20s, possibly mixed race with an olive complexion, very short dark hair and no facial hair. He was wearing blue and red basketball shorts and a gray t-shirt.

Onslow County Schools says it is taking appropriate safety measures. Principals at Northwoods Park Middle, Northwoods Elementary, Parkwood Elementary and Jacksonville High are using the Alert-Now system to notify parents and will speak with students before they are released this afternoon.

Anyone with information on this case should call Jacksonville police at 910-938-6405. Crimestoppers will offer up to a $2,500 reward in the case. Their number is 910-938-3273.
