Goldsoboro Police say the man wanted for a murder at a strip club in September was arrested Thursday afternoon. Police say Quinton Leon Swinson II was taken into custody with assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team about 4:10 p.m. at 215 Dogwood Drive in Mount Olive. Swinson was placed in the Wayne County Jail under no bond pending a first appearance scheduled for Monday on the murder charge.
Police have been looking for Swinson after the September 30th at approximately early morning murder at Teaser’s Night Club on Highway 117 South. Police say 18-year-old Jairus Saunders of Mercer Street in Goldsboro was found shot to death on the floor near the bathroom in the club.
Police say Swinson had 11 outstanding warrants for failure to appear for traffic violations and disorderly conduct for which he received a $12,500 secured bond.
The North Carolina ABC Commission says a fatal weekend shooting inside a Goldsboro strip club prompted the commission to take the alcohol permits from the business Friday. It is the second time in less than a year ABC has issued a summary suspension for Teasers on US 117.
Goldsboro Police are still looking for 24-year-old Quinton Swinson for the September 30th fatal shooting of Jarius Saunders inside the club.
Police say in November 2011 the club's permits were suspended
after several patrons were assaulted and one patron shot between May and November 2011. Court documents show an Administrative Law Judge ruled in favor of the business and the permits were reinstated within days of the ABC suspension in 2011.
The ABC Commission says the summary suspension of Teaser's permits is immediate and in effect until the case is heard by the Office of Administrative Hearings.
Goldsboro Police are looking for a suspect charged in the shooting death of an 18 year old inside a nightclub.
Police say they were called out to Teaser's nightclub in Goldsboro around 1:15 a.m. Sunday in reference to a shooting inside the club. When officers arrived they found Jarius Saunders dead on the floor by the bathroom from an apparent gunshot wound.
After conducting interviews and reviewing surveillance footage police have charged 24-year-old Quinton Swinson with an open count of murder. Police are now searching for Swinson. They say he is from Goldsboro and known by the nickname of "Fat Boy."
Police say Swinson should be considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information is asked to call the Goldsboro Police Department at 919-580-4214, Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255 or Text Crime Stoppers at 919-222-4230.
