A Newport man is now in jail, accused of sex crimes with a child.
Newport police say 28-year-old Benjamin King is charged with 1st degree sex offense with a minor child under 13 and indecent liberties with a child.
Officials say they began investigating after a tip from an elementary school.
Officials have seized a laptop, dvd's, clothing and other items from King's home.
He was given a $250 thousand dollar bond.
