Newport Man Charged With Raping 11 Year Old Girl

A man is under a half million dollar bond after deputies say he raped an 11-year-old girl.

Lenin Garcia of Newport was arrested Saturday by Carteret County deputies. He is charged with four counts of first degree rape of a child and placed in jail.

Deputies say the victim was known to the 31-year-old Garcia and that more charges are expected as they investigate the possibility of a second victim.
