    It seems like armed robbery is the career of choice in East NC. It wasn't like this a few years ago.

      Yes; the crime has been 'oozing' this way from Greenville.

        No. The crime has been "oozing this way" from broader, societal issues nationally, O.L.I. Sometimes your posts are far too simplistic. Still the same, New Bern is not exempt from these nation-wide problems as the three blind New Bern mice would like everyone to believe.

      New Bern isn't NEARLY as bad as Kinston or Greenville. (exculding Trent Court & Craven Terrace)...and I guess a few other "hot spots"...but the cops know about these lovely areas and profile, ummm, I mean, keep close watch on them. {thank you, NBPD}

        Aww, Come On! has on his mantle 3 monkeys: 1. Hear no Evil, 2. See no Evil, and 3. Speak no Evil. New Bern is not the Xanadu, free of crime and malice that you fool yourself into believing. The rest of ENC just laughs at your pithy comments and naivete!

          If you read this website regularly, you KNOW that Greenville/Kinston are leading the way in crime. New Bern is in the top 10, but not even close to the numbers that G-ville is racking up. (esp. in the murder catagory)

          Have you ever thought that this might be due to the fact that Greenville is 3.5 x the size of New Bern? Can't speak for K-town. Also, WITN is very Greenville focused and has a studio here, thus highlighting Greenville more. The large public ECU and the website hits that this generates any time a story breaks also has WITN salivating for attention. Add to this, many of the Greenville crimes are perpetrated by those outside of Greenville and Pitt County that come here due to the number of stores and plazas and college students. Just check the local rap sheet, a significant number of crimes in Greenville are committed by people of surrounding counties, including Craven. If you were stealing from departmet stores, where would you be more likely to go- Greenville or New Bern? Does Greenville have crime? Yes; but you need to put it in perspective and stop preaching of the piety of New Bern; it simply does not exist. Thank you.
