Previous Story
Three fires set to three buildings in one apartment complex Monday afternoon are now being deemed suspicious.

New Bern Fire Marshal Danny Hill said crews got the call to Woodland Crossing Apartments in New Bern at 3:08 Monday afternoon.

Crews found separate fires smoldering in storage buildings 200, 300, and 400. Hill said each building has five to six individual storage units.

In one unit, crews found a pile of pine straw piled up outside the door.

At another unit, pine straw was found inside the actual unit. Hill said in this incident it appears a door had been open.

At the unit building, the fire appeared to be set from under a door.

All damage was considered minor and no injuries were reported.

Crews are working to compile a suspect description in this case
