A father and son have been arrested in Asheville and charged with robbing a local bank.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that 57-year-old John Burton Edmonds and 23-year-old James Ryan Edmonds were arrested Friday and charged with robbing the Forest Commercial Bank earlier this month.
The younger man is being held on $75,000 bond. His father is being held on $100,000 bond. It couldn't be immediately determined Saturday if either has a lawyer.
Police say James Edmonds entered the bank wearing a ski mask and carrying a handgun on Dec. 8 before making off with more than $5,500.
They say his father pretended to run after him, and then gave police false information about where the robber was headed and what he was wearing.
