Murder Trial Moved

The murder trial of a man charged with an Edgecombe County death is scheduled to start Monday in another county.

The Rocky Mount Telegram reported that the trial of Antwan Pittman is scheduled to begin next week in Bertie County.

Pittman was charged two years ago with first-degree murder in the strangling death of 28-year-old Taraha Shenice Nicholson. Nicholson is one of several women whose bodies were found over a period of several years in a rural stretch of Edgecombe County.

Pittman has not been charged in any of the other deaths.

The trial originally had been scheduled to start Jan. 3 in Edgecombe County.
