The man suspected of murdering a nine-year-old boy who was visiting Duplin County from New York is due in court today.
Twenty-four-year-old Meshan Macmillian is charged with first degree murder in Duplin County for the death of nine-year-old Leon Halley III. The child was shot Saturday in Wallace. Deputies said a bullet came through the back window of the house he was in and killed him.
Police believe the shooting was based on a long-running feud among different groups. They do not believe the boy was the intended target.
Police said they are still looking into the possibility of more suspects that were involved.
