Investigators say a 62-year-old Mount Holly man has been shot to death by his son.
Police say 28-year-old Jiten Patel was arrested and charged with first-degree murder Saturday afternoon, about 12 hours after his father's body was found.
Investigators say family members called police after no one answered the phone at the family's home Friday evening.
Authorities say Ashwin Patel was shot several times. They have not released a motive for the killing.
Jiten Patel is being held without bond at the Gaston County jail. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.
