Mom Indicted In Dog Mauling Death Of 9 Day Old

A Bladen County grand jury indicted the mother of a 9 day old baby who authorities say was mauled to death by dogs in their home.

Chelsea Brigman was arrested Friday with involuntary manslaughter and posted a $50,000 bond.

Addyson Camerino was killed August 30th in a Clarkton home where the dogs lived with baby's mother, grandparents, uncles and an upstairs tenant. The district attorney says they decided to have to community, through the grand jury, be involved in deciding whether charges should be brought.

District Attorney Jon David said everyone who worked on the investigation was impacted by the gruesome nature of the baby's death, adding that the death of such a young child, by a group of dogs, is an emotionally charged event.
