NEW INFO: Meth Lab Found At Highway 70 Motel

Two people are behind bars after a meth investigation stretched into two Eastern Carolina counties.

During the process deputies and police found a meth lab in a motel.

Charles and Stacy Williams are facing multiple charges from both Jones and Lenoir counties.

Deputies say Charles Williams was arrested after they say he sold meth to an undercover investigator in the Wyse Fork area of Jones County after a three month investigation.

That led lawmen to a motel on U.S. 70 in Kinston where they found Stacy Williams. At the West Parke Inn they found an inactive portable meth lab in the bathroom.

The SBI and the fire department were called in to help clean up that lab.

Deputies say the two face additional charges in both counties.

Previous Story

A portable meth lab was discovered in a Kinston motel early this morning.

Kinston police say they went to the West Parke Inn on Highway 70 at the request of Jones County deputies. They detained Stacey Williams on charges from Jones County and in the process found the inactive meth lab in the bathroom.

The SBI was contacted to assist in the cleanup. Police say they will release more information as it becomes available.

The motel says "we have it under control", but won't say if guests have been evacuated. There are other cars in the motel's parking lot.
