Two Elizabeth City men are facing 17 counts of attempted murder after police say they shot into a restaurant and hardware store earlier this month.
Darren Rountree and Daniel Williams are also charged with going armed to the terror of the public, discharging a firearm in city limits, discharging firearm into occupied vehicle, damage to personal property and damage to real property.
The shooting happened at Mamasita's Restaurant and Ace Hardware, both on West Ehringhaus Street. No one was hit by the gunfire.
Also charged in the case is Tyrell Bembury as an accessory. Police say Bembury was initially charged with felony hit and run, careless and reckless driving and communicating threats. He and Rountree are being held on a $3.8 million bond, while Williams bond was set at $1.7 million.
