A Williamston man is in jail after deputies say he stabbed another man Wednesday afternoon.
Martin County deputies have charged Brandon Wynne with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
The stabbing happened at the victim's home on Bailey Road outside of Williamston around 4:30 p.m. There they found Edward Linton had been stabbed in the left side of his chest. He was taken to Martin General Hospital and then flown to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where deputies say he is recovering.
Wynne was stopped by Pitt County deputies and transported back to Martin County to go before a magistrate. His bond was set at $50,000 and deputies say they don't yet have a motive for the stabbing.
