Manteo Man Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography

A Manteo man has pleaded guilty to child pornography.

Agents say they seized a desktop computer and three DVDs containing 2,953 pictures and 165 videos of child pornography from 44-year-old Raymond Fitchett's home.

Fitchett will be sentenced on May 8. He faces up to 20 years imprisonment followed by up to five years of supervised release.

Authorities say Fitchett was nabbed after he was involved in downloading child pornography from an internet network that was the target of a national investigation by authorities.

Authorities state "the case was part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative, a national program aimed at ensuring that criminals exploiting children are effectively prosecuted by making full use of all
available law enforcement resources at every level."

In my opinion folks that are caught for child pornogrphy and malesation and other such crimes, deserve death penalty. They do not deserve to rot away in prison. Take them out blind fold there sorry rears and let the firing squad loose on them. These childrens lives are ruined forever. Its time the United States make there laws tougher so that criminals think twice before doing such crimes. And also it would help eliminate some of the deficit the US is in. Cut down on the # of folks in person that our hard earned money is going to help keep them behind bars.

Glad he's caught, but what about those he's been communicating with/sharing with? With that number of photos/videos, he's just one of a bunch in a ring, IMO. Too bad the sources can't be located and eradicated. Someone took those images; someone provided them too. It's a terrible thing to do to children; it's deplorable.

It is certainly ashamed how people can do this to young innocent human beings. Children cannot defend for themselves they look to adults for security & protection. Some adults need to get exactly what they give. But this is not for me to judge nor place punishment God will deal with these adults.
