Man Sentenced In Deadly Fight

A man from the east has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for a fight outside a bar that turned deadly.

Lonnie Nolon pleaded guilty and was sentenced Wednesday in Craven County Superior Court for voluntary manslaughter in the death of Steven Berry in August of last year.

Nolon got the maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

Investigators say Nolon and Berry got in a physical fight in the parking lot of Whispers Nightclub in the Harlowe area of Craven County.

Witnesses said they ended up on the ground and Nolon stabbed Berry. Berry died on the way to the hospital.
