Man Pleads Guilty To Dog Fighting

A Pamlico County man has admitted to dog fighting charges after a raid on his property last August.

Cody Ushry, Jr. pleaded guilty Monday and was given a suspended sentence.

This past summer authorities found 17 pit bull-type dogs on Ushry's property on Florence Road, along with suspected dog fighting paraphernalia.

As part of his sentence, the man cannot participate in breeding dogs, can't visit websites that advocate dog fighting and must complete 80 hours of community service.
