A man who admits to both a meth lab and breaking into a courthouse here in the east was sentenced Wednesday.

Brent Mannis, 28-years-old, went before a judge in Lenoir County Wednesday to face charges both there and in Wayne County.

Mannis admitted that he broke into the Wayne County Courthouse in September of 2010. He claimed he was trying to find the police department to turn himself in for drugs, but investigators say while in the courthouse, Mannis broke into the district attorney's office and was piling up electronic equipment all over the courthouse, but had no means to get it all out.

An assistant D.A. from Onslow County prosecuted the case.

Mannis pleaded guilty to both the Wayne County break-in and having a meth lab in Lenoir County.

Mannis already served nearly a year in prison. He'll serve nearly five years for the meth lab.
