Man Pleads Guilty, Sentenced For Murder

A Rocky Mount man has been sentenced to at least 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to second degree murder.

Rocky Mount police say Ronald Ricks Jr. pled guilty to second degree murder and larceny of a motor vehicle in connection with the death of Melissa Jo Wise in January 2010.

Wise was found dead in a motel room at the Executive Inn on North Wesleyan Blvd. Police say Ricks strangled Wise and stole her truck.
