A man has been charged with murder after a stabbing Sunday night in Tyrrell County.
Vinh Nguygen of Columbia has been charged with an open count of murder.
Sheriff Darryl Liverman says they got a call around 8:35 p.m. about a stabbing on Riverneck Road in Columbia. There they found 43-year-old Thuyen Cao of Columbia lying in the front yard with stab wounds. He died later at Chowan Hospital.
The 27-year-old Nguygen is being held without bond and is set for a first appearance today.
