Man Jailed After Beaufort Shooting

An argument between two men landed one of them in jail and another in a Greenville hospital after a shooting last night in Beaufort.

Police say it happened around 9:30 p.m. at 517 Pine Street. That's where they found 55-year-old Glenn Sharpe had been shot.

A couple of doors down police found William Crooms and he's been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Police say it started as an argument between the two men outside the Elks Lodge Bar on Queen Street.

Sharpe was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center. Crooms was jailed on $150,000 bond and has a first appearance today.
