Man Charged With Attempted Armed Robbery In Lenoir County

The man who lawmen say tried to rob a local high school student at gunpoint in Lenoir County is now in custody, according to the Kinston Free Press.

The paper says, 24-year-old Michael Hunt of Goldsboro is now locked up in the Lenoir County Jail and charged with attempted armed robbery after a North Lenoir High School student identified Hunt as the gunman who told him to empty his wallet Saturday afternoon at the Handy Mart on Highway 258.

He is being held under a $50,000 bond.
