A traffic stop in Beaufort County ended with a man facing drug and weapon charges.
The Sheriff's Office was assisting a North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper during the stop on Mill Road in Washington December 12.
Lawmen say they seized marijuana, drug items and a handgun from the vehicle.
Kyle West Jr., age 41 of Horse Pen Swamp Road, was arrested.
The Sheriff's Office reports the investigation showed West had previous felony convictions in Florida.
Authorities got a warrant charging West with possession of a firearm by a felon. They say West turned himself in on December 22.
He was given a $5,000 unsecured bond, processed through the Beaufort County Detention Center and released.
