Man Accused Of Raping Child

An Onslow County man is jailed on a $1,000,000 bond, accused of raping a child over a four year period.

James Baker, Jr. was arrested today by Onslow County deputies. They say between 2007 and 2011 the 26-year-old man raped the child who was eight years old when the attacks began.

Baker, who lives on Briarneck Road, is charged with four counts of first degree statutory rape, four counts of first degree statutory sexual offense on a child, four counts of indecent liberties with a child and three counts of felony child abuse involving a sexual act.
