Troopers in Onlsow County are continuing to search for the driver who killed a man who was walking down a highway, and kept going.
It happened New Year's Eve around 8:00 p.m. on Highway 24 in Hubert.
30-year-old Earl Dupey died after he was hit by a silver car. On Monday troopers released a photograph of the car's side mirror with hopes that someone might recognize the vehicle with the missing passenger-side mirror.
Dupey was airlifted to Wilmington where he later died.
Loved ones gathered on the beach New Year's Day to remember a friend killed in a hit and run in Onslow County Tuesday night.

Trooper Spring says Dupey was airlifted to Wilmington.

Lee West, a friend of Dupey's, says he was a fun loving person who was always positive about life and would do anything for anybody. West says he loved the beach and was there almost every day. He sent us pictures of loved ones who gathered on the beach Wednesday to remember Dupey.
